Brian & Anjuli Thompson

This week, host Chris Carden heads to Calhoun County, Alabama where he sits down with a married couple who bring a unique perspective to the subject of officer wellness.

Brian Thompson, a police officer with the Oxford, Alabama Police Department, and wife Anjuli, counselor and founder of HOUSE Counseling, talk candidly about how both of their professions have impacted marriage and some of the insights they’ve gained.

Brian and Anjuli also talk with Carden about the stigma surrounding mental health in law enforcement, obstacles officers face when seeking treatment, and the importance of trust and communication in marriage.

Anjuli R. Thompson , LPC is a counselor in Oxford, Alabama. She is the founder of HOUSE Counseling where her primary focus is therapeutic interventions for children and first responders. Thompson is also the founder and president of FOP Auxiliary 4, an organization dedicated to promoting the welfare of law enforcement officers and their families in the Calhoun County, AL area.

Brian Thompson is a 2008 graduate of Jackson State University, Brian got his start in law enforcement as a police officer with Jacksonville, Alabama Police Department in 2005.

Over the course of his 17 year law enforcement career, Thompson also worked as an investigator with the Calhoun/Cleburne Co. Drug & Violent Crime Task Force before settling into his current position with the Oxford Police Department in 2014.
